Adult Dependent Relative Visa: Applying for ILR
You and the relative who cares for you apply for settlement together under the adult dependent relative visa.
You do not have to take an English exam or sit the Life in the UK Test.
ILR for Adult Dependent Relatives: Who Qualifies
Adult dependent relative permission is required, and you must be over 18. From the day you entered the UK, your relative must have enough to support you for at least 5 years without using public funds, and a sponsor form records their confirmation.
Applying Together with Your Relative
Send your form at the same time as the relative who looks after you. Send the two forms at the same time because your visa will run out if their ILR is approved first. To find that date, put your relative’s visa details into the ILR calculator.
The English test and the Life in the UK Test are not needed
For this application, the Life in the UK Test is not needed, nor do you have to prove your English.
Fees and How Long a Decision Takes
The fee is £3,226 per person, and a decision usually arrives within 6 months after you provide your fingerprints and photograph.
